Rytr Review, Pricing & Alternatives

Even great writers and marketers struggle to find the right words sometimes. During those times, how convenient would it be to have an assistant? Hiring a full-time copywriter or partner can be a great expense, especially if you’re just starting out with a business. This is why an abundance of AI copywriting services have entered the market.

Rytr is one of these platforms dedicated to helping you boost creativity and produce results in no time.

What is Rytr?

Rytr is an AI-powered writing tool that helps you create high-quality content in just a few seconds. Compared to other AI copywriting businesses, Rytr is a relatively new platform, but it regularly adds updates to further improve the tools and services it offers.

Rytr serves as the smart writing assistant you have always needed, but never had, saving you money and time for other things that you need to do. Rytr is powered by an AI, but controlled by you. Features

What’s probably the most interesting about Rytr is that you are offered a free plan. With this free plan, you get access to all of Rytr’s tools and use cases, as well as its other services. The only thing is that each month, you can only generate up to 5000 credits. For Rytr, a credit is equivalent to 1 character. A standard email will take about 500 to 1000 characters, so with the free plan you will most probably only get around 5 results. However, for shorter forms of content such as the occasional video description, social media ads, and SEO meta tags, this is quite a great deal.

If you run out of credits, you can always subscribe to Copywriter’s Premium Plan for $29. With this plan, you’ll get to generate unlimited characters, access to all of Rytr’s use cases and tones, a dedicated account manager, priority email and chat support, access to its premium community, and the ability to write in 15 different languages.

You can choose how your content sounds from the 20 different tones Rytr is offering, which is much more tones than any other platform offers. Aside from the usual Professional and Funny tones, Rytr can generate the following tones from Assertive and Thoughtful, to Cautionary and Worried, allowing you to make all sorts of content for various purposes. Copywriting will always require flexibility, so this feature is definitely beneficial.

Another interesting feature of Rytr is that the web app is optimized for mobile use as well. This makes it very easy to start working even when you’re on your phone, perfect for fast creation of short content such as captions, video descriptions, and social media ads.

Ease of Use

Rytr’s interface is probably the simplest of all the other AI copywriting platforms. Everything will be done in one window, much like when you’re using a simple email application on your phone. The workspace is very clean, and even though you don’t really have the option to create folders or project files, you can see all your previous copies conveniently. All tools are accessible with a single drop-down menu. The only thing that will change are the set of information that Rytr will ask you to input. I like how there you don’t need to do much scrolling or clicking of links to start working on your copy.

Pricing

Rytr offers a Free Plan with a limit of only 5000 characters per month. If you would like to avail of Rytr’s Premium Plan, it will cost you $29 per month, or you could opt to avail an annual subscription for a total of $290.

You can get by with Rytr’s free plan if you will use it mainly to generate short forms of content such as fast captions on social media, video descriptions, and SEO meta tags. However, if would not like to be limited as to the number of characters you can generate, then subscribing to the Rytr Premium may be a good choice.

Relatively, the price for Rytr’s Premium Plan is one of the most affordable plans, considering this is the best plan that you can get from the platform. Your $29 dollars get you access to everything Rytr has to offer, without any limits. Though Rytr lacks some other tools that other AI services already have, it does a really great job with the tools that it does have. Aside from the convenience of being able to work smoothly on your phone and the simplicity of Rytr’s interface, the fact that you can also edit your copies as soon as they are generated (complete with text editing tools) is another plus for me. Just for these reasons, getting a Rytr subscription is worth it.

Review In Detail

To help you decide whether Rytr is the one for you, let’s go ahead and test it out.

Signing Up

Rytr’s landing page is probably one of the shortest pages. Rytr doesn’t necessarily bombard you with so much information and so much testimonials from loyal customers, but it does the job of introducing you to the platform and what it can do. I, for one, really like Rytr’s aesthetic as it gives you a sense of organization and it is inviting.

A simple scroll down the page will let you read about Rytr, what tools it offers, a few testimonials from their customers, the price for a subscription, and lastly, a short video of how to use Rytr. Everything’s pretty simple which is very fitting at Rytr is indeed a simple program but has a lot to offer.

Rytr’s landing page is short but it doesn’t shy from answering FAQs and giving out tips and other guides on how to make the most out of Rytr. When you click on the Resources tab found at the top of the page, you’ll be met with an extensive guide about different topics which will be helpful as you make use of Rytr. You’ll find most of the essentials in here and Rytr does a really great job explaining everything you need to know.

The chat icon, found at the lower right of the screen, is also available for you to use should you have any other concerns.

Signing up to Rytr is as simple as the app itself. Simply click on the Start Ryting button, and the only thing you’ll need is your email address. You can also use your Google or Facebook account should you choose to.

Dashboard

After signing up, your dashboard will immediately pop up. From there, everything you need to start generating copies will be conveniently placed and accessible.

On the left side of your main workspace, there is an option for you to select your language, tone, and use case. No need for you to browse through a long list of tools with long descriptions and samples. Rytr is very straight-forward with regards to asking for your input. Simply select what you need and write key points, then click on the Ryte for me button.

Unlike most other AI services, Rytr doesn’t provide you with a number of options in one generation. Beside the Ryte for me button, you have an option to select how many variants of the copies you would like Rytr to generate for you. Currently, you can select only up to three variants for your copies. For a free plan, each variant will cost you more credits as you will generate double or triple the character count, which will most likely use up your credits fast.

On the other side of the screen, you’ll see a list of your recently created documents, presented in a very clean and organized manner. To see more of the copies you have generated, simply click on the History Tab on top of your dashboard.

Pressing on the Account tab will lead you to where you can keep track of the credits you are using, manage your profile, and read about the steps on how to get some extra rewards from Rytr.

Rytr continues to keep things interesting for those with free plans by giving out as much as 10,000 credits monthly just by following the easy steps below.

Start Writing

Let’s test out Rytr by trying to create a simple email.

Step 1: Click on Create a New Document, and start selecting the language, tone, and type of content you wish to generate. For this trial, let’s select Email for our use case and Thoughtful for our tone.

Step 2: Provide some key points and keywords to give Rytr an idea of what you want for your copy. Let’s say that we just want to write an email reminding our subscribers of an upcoming sale of our products.

Step 3: Choose how many variants you would like to see and click on Ryte for me.

Here’s what Rytr was able to come up with from my simple input.

Personally, I think Rytr did well generating a simple email that we can send out to our subscribers. The Thoughtful tone was evident in the email, which is a good sign that Rytr incorporates your chosen tones into your copies. I would say that the email sounds a bit generic, so the best thing to do is to put a lot of thought into the keywords you input. I don’t think it generates the best quality of content, but for a free plan, you get a lot of ideas that are good enough to get you started.

The good thing is that you can easily edit your content as Rytr provides you with complete editing tools right where your results are generated. A few edits here and there, and add some more personal touch, and you’ll be good to go.

All in all, Rytr can be a good writing assistant especially for when you need to create short content with limited amount of time. The web app is perfect for small business owners and entrepreneurs who are always on the go as you can work conveniently with Rytr, even on your phone.

Pros

-Offers a free plan

-Clean, simple, and straight-forward interface

-Very easy to use

-Has a larger variety of tones to choose from compared to other AI copywriting services

-Easy to edit content right away

Cons

-Offers fewer features compared to other AI copywriting services

-Might need a more extensive editing of the content generated

Rytr Alternatives & Competitors

Rytr vs. Copysmith

One of the main features of Copysmith is a built-in plagiarism checker to make sure that your copies are original, giving it an edge over its competitors.

Much like Rytr, Copysmith also has a simple interface, but with Rytr, it’s more of a one-window or page type of thing. Both platforms also have limited tools and services compared to other platforms, but between the two, you are much more limited with Rytr as it focuses mainly on shorter forms of content. Copysmith’s Starter Plan only includes access to shorter forms of content. Availing its Professional Plan gives you access to the longer forms, but this will cost you $50, which is quite expensive for the limited types of copies it can generate.

Although Rytr offers a free plan, 5,000 words will probably not be enough for a month for copywriters and business owners. Considering only the short forms of content, Copysmith’s $16 Starter Plan is more affordable than Rytr’s $29 Premium Plan. Plus, you get a bit more tools with Copysmith.

Rytr vs. CopyAI

CopyAI is another AI copywriting service with a big collection of tools to choose from. With CopyAI, you can even generate content for personal purposes such as greeting cards, birthday cards, and love letters.

When it comes to the ease of using these platforms, both CopyAI and Rytr are simple and easy to understand. It’s just that with Rytr, it’s more of a one-window interface whereas with CopyAI, you click more buttons, and you link to other windows.

CopyAI’s Solo Plan costs $35 while Rytr’s plan costs $29. Considering that you can do so much more with CopyAI, and that it is one of the platforms capable of producing the best quality of copies, availing a subscription with CopyAI may be much more worth the price even though it is $6 more than Rytr’s. Rytr does have a free plan, but because it offers only 5,000 words per month, it might not be enough for any active marketer or business owner.

Rytr vs. Writesonic

Writesonic offers a bigger collection of tools and templates compared to other services. Its other features include other writing essentials such as Content Rephraser, Grammar Checker, and Readability Checker.

Much like Rytr, Writesonic is also fairly easy to use, but comparing it to Rytr, Rytr would be a much simpler platform for beginners. Writesonic, especially during your first few tries, will appear a bit more cluttered, but it does generate one of the highest quality of content in the market. Writesonic also offers much more tools and services whereas with Rytr, you are limited to only a few types of short-form content.

Although Rytr offers a free plan, 5,000 characters per month will not likely be enough. You will have to avail of its $29 dollar plan to generate unlimited characters. Writesonic offers a $25 plan, but you will be limited to only 75 credits per month. Although your access with Writesonic is limited, 75 credits may be enough for a month and the platform does offer more tools for you to choose from.

Rytr vs. Conversion.AI

Conversion.AI makes use of a true AI copywriting assistant called Jarvis with a vast array of templates from SEO meta tags to Youtube video outlines, blog post intros, and Amazon product descriptions. Aside from basic content creation, Conversion.AI can help you improve your content by expanding sentences or rewriting paragraphs.

Comparing the two web apps, Conversion.AI offers more tools and services. Aside from having only a few types of copies to choose from, Rytr focuses more on shorter forms of content, whereas Conversion.AI does a great job with its long-form blog posts.

Conversion.AI offers a $29 Starting Plan with a limit of 20,000 words per month, while for the same price, Rytr offers unlimited credits. Availing unlimited credits with Conversion.AI costs $109, which is about 4 times more than the price of Rytr’s Starting Plan.

Rytr vs. ContentBot

With Contentbot, you get over 25 highly tuned AI tools at your fingertips.

ContentBot and Rytr both offers plans with unlimited access to their respective tools and services at a price of $29. Comparing the two, Rytr is much more convenient to use as it makes use of a one-window interface, and you can edit your copies as they are generated. Also, Rytr looks much more organized and put together, which is a plus as cluttered platforms make it a bit more difficult to work. With ContentBot, there’s no option to edit your copies right away but it does offer a much larger collection of tools and copies than that of Rytr’s.

Rytr vs. ShortlyAI

Though it is powered by the same language model as other well-known AI copywriting services, ShortlyAI offers fewer features and capabilities as it focuses mainly on writing, shortening, lengthening, or rephrasing longer forms of content such as blogs, essays, reviews, and stories.

Whether Rytr or ShortlyAI is the best for you will depend on the type of content you prefer or need help creating. Rytr is focused on generating much shorter forms of content, while ShortlyAI focuses on creating longer forms.

Rytr vs. Closers Copy

Closers Copy is an AI copywriting software that is jam-packed with features to help you improve copyrighting skills, templates to help you get started, as well as all the copywriting tools you need to be a great copywriter.

Both platforms are easy to use but with Closers Copy, you can do much more things. On top of the basic AI copywriting services, Closers Copy enables you to grow your business and copies further with the use of various extra features. On the other hand, you can only do a handful of short forms of content with Rytr.

Rytr’s Pro Plan costs only $29. For about the same price, we get a 50,000-character limit with Closers Copy, which shows that Rytr gives us more value for our money. However, Closers Copy does offer so much extra features that are beneficial for all sorts of marketing or business-related activities, on top of the basic AI copywriting services it provides, that it might just be worth it paying for a $79.99 plan with Closers Copy.

Rytr vs. Anyword

Aside from basic content creation, Anyword offers some of the best extra features for developing businesses. One of these features is the inclusion of a Predictive Engagement Score for every generated copy, allowing you to determine the impact of your copy and optimize the content for your target audience.

Both Rytr and Anyword focus on generating shorter forms of content such as social media ads and product descriptions. You can create longer forms of content with Anyword, but you will have to avail of the larger plans. Rytr offers a much-limited selection of tools but because of this, using Rytr is much simpler and easier. Anyword offers more features, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the platform is cluttered and difficult to understand. It’s just that you will have to take a bit more exploring the platform to fully appreciate what you can do with it.

Anyword’s Starter Plan is much cheaper at $19. However, you will be limited to only 15,000 words per month. You can generate a lot of content with 15,000 words, but Anyword offers more plans for much higher prices. For a 35,000-word limit, from $19, the price goes up to $39. For $29, you can already get unlimited access to all that Rytr can do.

Rytr vs. Nichesss

Nichesss is a relatively new AI copywriting assistant, but it can already do powerful content creation and idea generation. One of the most unique features of Nichesss are the quizzes you can take to help you get ideas in starting or developing your business.

Rytr has a much more professional look to its interface, whereas Nichesss has a more fun and informal platform, even making use of emojis and stickers. Rytr offers fewer tools and services as compared to Nichesss. With Nichesss you can create all sorts of copies, but with Rytr, you can only come up with shorter forms of content.

Both Rytr and Nichesss are generous when it comes to their paid plans as they have no limits to the number of copies you can create and the tools you can choose to use. Rytr and Nichesss are priced at $29 and $19 respectively, making Nichesss the better option between the two.
