Features

Writesonic has 3 types of features: Free, Basic, and Limited. The free features of Writesonic include Landing Page Headlines, Startup Ideas, Growth Ideas, YouTube Titles, Listicle Ideas, and Readability Checker. The basic features include the usual short content copies every copywriter is usually tasked to do including ads, social media posts, emails, product descriptions, and the like. For the Advanced, features include the tools needed for much longer forms of content: AI Article Writer, Blog Ideas, Blog Intros, Blog Outlines, and Priority Support.

Writesonic offers 3 plan types: Starter, Professional, and Business. The three plans all have the same features. The only difference is the limit to which you can use these features. For all three, the free features are for unlimited use. For a Starter Plan, the Basic and Advanced features are limited to 75 credits per month. Take note that for a Starter Plan, Priority Support under the Advanced Features is not included. For a Professional and Business Plan, users have unlimited access to Basic Features. When it comes to the Advanced, they are limited to 150 and 1200 credits, respectively.

A Starter plan is recommended for new marketers and small startup businesses, especially for those individuals who have no experience in copywriting and would like to get the quality help that Writesonic has to offer. You will have limited access to what I think are the types of content you will most likely need for the business, but if you aren’t planning to use Writesonic that much, I think you’d get by with the 75 credits. A Professional Plan is recommended for small businesses and marketing pros, while the Business Plan is recommended for larger businesses and for those who need copywriting at scale as you will be given 1200 credits for this plan.

So, what are credits? As stated on Writesonic’s Frequently Answered Questions, credits let you magically generate articles, landing pages, ads, product descriptions and other types of content. Credits are sort of like tickets that you use to avail content from Writesonic. The number of credits that will be deducted you’re your account will depend on the type of content you are generating.

Ease of Use

Writesonic’s platform is very simple and easy to understand even for people who are just starting out with AI copywriting services or copywriting itself. The dashboard and the workspace look clean and simple, which is very pleasing to the eyes as you’re working. Writesonic also gives you a lot of reminders and tips as you are working and inputting details for your copies, so you won’t have to worry about getting lost and confused. You only need to select what type of content you will be writing, and Writesonic will help you every step of the way.

There’s also a chat icon that can be found on the lower right side of your screen. You can use this chat to ask questions and raise concerns. You can also read about instant answers for frequently asked questions there.

Pricing

Here are the annual prices for Writesonic’s Starter, Professional, and Business Plans.

If you opt to pay for a monthly subscription, here are the following prices:

Writesonic offers a free trial for its new users with no specific time frame. However, you are offered only 10 credits for your trial so be wise and test out as much as you can for yourself. Once you use up the 10 credits, your trial is done.

For a limited time, Writesonic is offering a 60% off any plan which is such a good steal so if you think after your free trial that Writesonic is for you, now would be the best time to avail of its plans.

The regular price for a Starter plan is quite affordable, but your access to its Basic and Advanced features will be limited to only 75 credits per month, and these credits reset every month. Most of Writesonic’s tools will need around 1-5 credits every time you generate results and each time you generate, you can get about 5 results of copies. I think this is a fairly good deal considering the tools and other services that come with it. In fact, 75 clicks every month may be more than enough for small businesses and marketers. However, if you are a larger company with larger needs, you may opt to choose the bigger plans.

If you want to avail of Writesonic’s services for only a few times, they also have a Pay-As-You-Go option. The Pay-As-You-Go allows you to only buy a few credits at a time, to spend on a few of Writesonic’s services. This is a very interesting feature and is perfect for those who do not want to commit to the platform but wish to use it for a few times.

Review In Detail

Let’s dive deeper into how we can use Writesonic to make high-quality copies.

Signing Up

Writesonic has a pleasing look to its website. With one scroll, all your initial questions about the platform are going to be answered in a concise and informative way. The first thing that you’ll see is the Start Writing For Free button. Right below it, you’ll also see that Writesonic will not ask for any of your credit card details before you avail your trial, which is a very good sign for most people (including me).

Scroll down the page and you’ll see an interactive demo of what Writesonic can do for you. Three typical questions will also be answered as you scroll: what writesonic can write for you, how it works, and for who Writesonic is.

Further down the page, you’ll see testimonials from Writesonic’s happy users in a very hip and cool way as the videos look like they are made from Tiktok or other social media platforms. This shows that Writesonic is a trusted partner of small businesses and that you could be one of them too. You’ll also read more comments and praises by more of Writesonic’s users at the bottom of the page.

Let’s go back up the page and sign up to avail our 10 credits from Writesonic. To sign up, you only need to enter your name, email address, and choose a password, or you could sign up using your Google account to make things even faster.

Dashboard

Once you finish signing up, you will see a simple dashboard or workspace. There won’t be any tours of your dashboard or tutorials, but you’ll do fine on your own as the space isn’t cluttered and overwhelming despite the many things you could do using the platform.

At the very top of your page, you’ll see a sort of Main Menu. When you click on Showcase, you’ll be linked to a page where Writesonic boasts some of its best landing page work for 7 different companies. As you select each company, you’ll see exactly what they’ve entered, and what Writesonic was able to come up with. Overall, I think Writesonic was very successful in capturing the essence of each company. Just from the basic descriptions, Writesonic was able to create captivating headlines and other content fit for the companies.

Below are the descriptions that Magic Email provided for Writesonic:

And, this is their final product: a short but captivating headline and tips of what else to include in their landing page.

Writesonic was also able to turn simple the simple description of Magic Email’s features into marketing-worthy versions, and I, for one, think they did a really good job with it.

Back to your dashboard, you’ll also notice a link saying Earn Free Credits. Of course, who wouldn’t want to earn free credits? When you check that out, you’ll be shown how to do exactly that.

Turns out, you only have to write reviews for Writesonic and once your reviews are posted, you’ll earn your free credits. That’s actually really great marketing on their part. To get rewarded, you can write reviews on G2 Crowd, Capterra, and Trust Pilot. You’ll also earn credits when you follow and share about Writesonic on Twitter and LinkedIn.

This actually is a good deal for users like us because for every review, we can get 100 credits. Just by following Writesonic on social media, we get 25. You could already get a lot of short content copies done with 25 credits. Simply read and follow the instructions they posted for each option to make sure you get your rewards.

Start Writing

It’s pretty easy to start writing with Writesonic. The first thing for us to do is to simply click on the New Project button, and Writesonic will guide us through the next steps.

Since Writesonic seems to be very proud of how their AI is able to create landing pages, let’s go ahead and test it out for ourselves.

Step 1: Click on the New Project button found on your workspace and name your project. For this trial, let’s say we’re to create a landing page for a shopping platform we’ll call ShopAway.com. After that, we’ll click on Create.

Step 2: You’ll be met with the list of tools you can choose from. For this trial, we’ll scroll down and select Landing Pages. As seen below, we’ll need 5 credits in order to generate results for a Landing page.

Step 3: Input the information that Writesonic is asking from you. Writesonic will tell you if what you’ve written is enough for it to generate content. You will need about 10 words for it to work. Be sure to describe your product as well as possible, in order for Writesonic to capture your brand. You can also choose a different language for your copies here. After that, just click on the Generate Landing Page button and wait shortly for your results to arrive.

For our trial platform, I’ve gone ahead and written the following descriptions:

Step 4: You’ll be given options for your landing page content and all that’s left to do is to choose. Here’s one of the landing page copies that Writersonic was able to generate for us:

Title: Ecommerce for everybody

Subtitle: ShopAway.com is a one-stop online shopping platform for everyday needs. Our unique recommendation engine and cashback guarantee make it easy to shop smarter.

Main Feature Title: ShopAway gives you a better way to shop online

Feature 3 Subtitle: Get your items delivered in no time

CTA Button: Try ShopAway today.

Personally, I think Writesonic was able to do a great job with the little description I’ve provided.  All the copies generated were good, but as seen from above (CTA), the AI can get a bit confused and mixed up. So, I’ll probably have to be a bit more specific to generate better results. Some sentences here and there will need a few edits and a personal touch, but overall, Writesonic will be able to give you a lot of good ideas and get you started on a path.

Step 4: Download your copies and use them for whatever purpose as these are yours to keep. You can only choose to download your copies in text files.

All your generated copies are automatically saved and are easily accessible in your dashboard.

I went ahead and tried generating Facebook ads for our same trial platform and here are some of the results generated from my first click:

One thing I really liked about Writesonic is how it presents the copies it is able to generate. It really provides you with a peek of how your copy would look like once you use or post it online. I think it’s a helpful deciding factor with regards to your decision of which content to use.

I noticed though, that unlike other services, editing isn’t readily available for Writesonic. You’d have to download the text files of your favorite copies and edit them on your own. I would have liked the added convenience of being able to edit my copies right then and there, but I guess the fact that Writersonic produces such great material is enough to make me want to use it. Also, there are tons of things to explore and do with Writersonic such as the Grammar Fixer and the Readability Checker tool. I think these are essential tools for beginners and professionals alike, and can be used for other purposes, aside from making marketing copies. Overall, I think Writesonic makes for a competitive AI copywriting tool.

Pros

-Offers a free trial (which isn’t time-limited) without asking for credit card details.

-Offers very flexible payment plans

-Able to generate high-quality content that captures the essence of your business in a matter of seconds, with option to target a specific market or specific occasion

-Offers other types of powerful features such as Content Rephraser, Grammar Checker, and Readability Checker

-HTML files of landing pages can be downloaded easily

Cons

-Credits don’t roll over to the next month

-No option to edit the generated copies right away

Writesonic Alternatives & Competitors

Writesonic vs. Copysmith

Copysmith is a powerful AI creation tool which boasts a wide range of templates to choose from. One of its main features is a built-in plagiarism checker to make sure that your copies are original, giving it an edge over its competitors. However, Writesonic’s collection is bigger and much better.

Both services make use of credits as sort of tickets to generate copies, but Writesonic is a bit more generous with its credits, and you have a ton more options too. Plus, Writesonic is one of the platforms able to produce the best quality of content.

Considering the regular prices of Starter plans for both services, Copysmith is more affordable at only $16. However, with Copysmith you are limited to only short forms of content (for a Starter plan). You will have to avail larger plans to create longer content whereas Writesonic gives you access to all types for limited credits. Copysmith works well but comparing the two, Writesonic delivers much better and genuine forms of content.

Writesonic vs. CopyAI

Much like Writesonic, CopyAI also offers a big collection of tools and templates.  Its other features include other writing essentials such as Content Rephraser, Grammar Checker, and Readability Checker, which are potentially more useful compared to CopyAI’s extra features: greeting cards and love letters.

CopyAI enables its users to create projects to organize their copies right there in the web app and allows for editing so you can finalize the copy you wish to save. These are some of the features I think Writesonic is lacking.

Both services provide high-quality copies, some of the best in the business, but comparing prices, Writesonic is the more affordable choice at $25 per month. CopyAI is priced at $35 dollars, but you do get unlimited access to all that it offers.

Writesonic vs. Conversion.AI

Conversion.AI makes use of a true AI copywriting assistant called Jarvis with a vast array of templates from SEO meta tags to Youtube video outlines, blog post intros, and Amazon product descriptions. Aside from basic content creation, Conversion.AI can help you improve your content by expanding sentences or rewriting paragraphs.

Writesonic and Conversion.AI share a lot of the same tools and features. For the quality of the copies the AI assistants are able to produce, Conversion.AI leads the race with Writesonic following closely behind. As for the ease of use and user interface, the point goes to Conversion.AI as the whole platform has a very pleasing look whereas Writesonic can look a bit cluttered and confusing.

Conversion.AI offers a starting plan for $29 which isn’t far off from Writesonic’s $25 plan. However, both platforms have a limit to their starting plans. For Writesonic, you are given 75 credits while Conversion.AI gives you a maximum of 20,000 words per month. To avail of unlimited credits, you will have to pay $89 for Writesonic and $109 for Conversion.AI, making Writesonic the more affordable choice.

Writesonic vs. ContentBot

With Contentbot, you get over 25 highly tuned AI tools at your fingertips. Both services make use of credits as sort of tickets to generate copies and ContentBot is a bit more generous as it offers unlimited credits for its plans. However, Writesonic is much better when it comes to the quality of your copy. Writesonic is also much faster when it comes to the generation of results.

For $29, you get unlimited access with ContentBot. Writesonic’s Starter Plan, priced at $25 gives you 75 credits every month, which can be enough if you aren’t to use the app for extensive times. ContentBot works well but comparing the two, Writesonic delivers content that captures more of your brand’s essence and tone.

Writesonic vs. Rytr

Rytr has one of the simplest and easiest to understand user interfaces among the other AI copywriting services. It features a much larger variety of tones to choose from, but what really sets it apart from other services is that it offers a free plan with 5,000 characters per month.

Writesonic is also fairly easy to use, but comparing it to Rytr, Rytr would be a much simpler platform for beginners. Writesonic, especially during your first few tries, will appear a bit more cluttered, but it does generate one of the highest quality of content in the market. Writesonic also offers much more tools and services whereas with Rytr, you are limited to only a few types of short-form content.

Although Rytr offers a free plan, 5,000 characters per month will not likely be enough. You will have to avail of its $29 dollar plan to generate unlimited characters. Writesonic offers a $25 plan, but you will be limited to only 75 credits per month. Although your access with Writesonic is limited, 75 credits may be enough for a month and the platform does offer more tools for you to choose from.

Writesonic vs. ShortlyAI

Though it is powered by the same language model as other well-known AI copywriting services, ShortlyAI offers fewer features and capabilities as it focuses mainly on writing, shortening, lengthening, or rephrasing longer forms of content such as blogs, essays, reviews, and stories. It is clear that when it comes to the types of content you can generate, Writesonic is the winner.

With ShortlyAI, an expensive $65 plan will only give you access to creating long articles and stories. If you wish to create social media ads, product descriptions, and other shorter forms of copies, ShortlyAI wouldn’t be of much help. For $25 a month, you will already have access to both short and long forms of content with Writesonic. You will be limited to 75 credits for this plan, but you at least have the option of creating copies which are much more relevant to your business.

Writesonic vs. Closers Copy

Closers Copy is an AI copywriting software that is jam-packed with features to help you improve copyrighting skills, templates to help you get started, as well as all the copywriting tools you need to be a great copywriter.

In terms of what you can do with the platform, Closers Copy wins as it includes a lot of extra features that will help grow your business and your copies even further such as Power Words Lookup, Thesaurus Lookup, and analysis of copy’s Emotions, Sentences, Keywords, and Voice. You can even make use of Closers Copy to quickly reveal whether your email copy will make an impact on your audience or if it will simply get lost in their spam box.

When it comes to pricing, Writesonic and Closers Copy aren’t too far off from each other. A starter plan with Writesonic costs $25 with 75 credits. A starter plan with Closers Copy costs $29.99 with a maximum of 50,000 characters per month. Some people will be able to get by with these limitations, but for those who wish to avail larger plans, unlimited credits come at $89 for Writesonic, and $79.99 for Closers Copy, making Closers Copy your best option.

Writesonic vs. Anyword

Aside from basic content creation, Anyword offers some of the best extra features for developing businesses. One of these features is the inclusion of a Predictive Engagement Score for every generated copy, allowing you to determine the impact of your copy and optimize the content for your target audience.

Both platforms come with plans with limited accesss. Writesonic’s $25 Starter Plan comes with only 75 credits, while Anyword’s $19 Plan comes with 15,000 words per month. Anyword allows for much more flexibility when it comes to payment plans as you can avail a Starter Plan packaged with more words for a higher price (35,000 words will cost you $39). If you wish to have unlimited access with Writesonic, it will cost you $89.

The main difference between the two is that Anyword focuses mainly on shorter forms of content. With Writesonic, you can generate all sorts of copies. If you wish to create more types of content, Writesonic will be a good choice for you. However, Anyword isn’t that far behind from Writesonic when it comes to content, so choosing Anyword is a good choice as well. Plus, with Anyword, you get to enjoy a lot of unique features to optimize your content.

Writesonic vs. Nichesss

Nichesss is a relatively new AI copywriting assistant, but it can already do powerful content creation and idea generation. One of the most unique features of Nichesss are the quizzes you can take to help you get ideas in starting or developing your business.

I would say that Writesonic delivers much genuine and unique pieces of content compared to Nichesss, but Nichesss is still able to provide copies of good quality.

When it comes to pricing, Nichesss is the more affordable choice. At $19, you get unlimited access to all tools and services it offers. Writesonic’s Starter Plan is priced at $25 with a limit of only 75 credits, which gives Nichesss a much greater value for money.
