Write for Us
Write for MeltMail
MeltMail began as a temporary e-mail forwarding service: you create a disposable address that forwards to your real inbox for three, six, twelve or twenty-four hours and then melts away, so the spammers never get your real address. Over the years the site has also covered the other side of the inbox, with articles on DKIM, deliverability, e-mail marketing strategy, CRM and e-commerce. Our readers are people who care about privacy, spam and how e-mail actually works, plus the marketers trying to reach an inbox without being marked as junk. If you can write clearly for that audience, we would like you to write for us.
We accept guest posts from developers, privacy researchers, e-mail marketers, deliverability consultants and founders of tools in the space. A big name is not required. A real understanding of the subject is.
What we publish
- Disposable and temporary e-mail: how forwarding addresses work, when to use them, and how they compare with aliasing and masked e-mail services.
- Spam and inbox privacy: filtering, tracking pixels, data brokers, list-selling and practical ways to keep a personal address clean.
- Deliverability and authentication: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, sender reputation, warm-up, bounce handling and why legitimate mail ends up in junk.
- E-mail marketing and CRM: list building, segmentation, automation, copy that reads like a person wrote it, and the tools that run it.
- Small-business and e-commerce tooling: reviews and comparisons of the software a small online business relies on, including the occasional local-services guide.
Guest posts and sponsored articles
We publish two types of contributed article. A guest post is editorial written to inform our readers, with no payment in either direction. A sponsored post is a paid placement commissioned by a company, usually a software vendor, agency or service provider, that features its product or service inside a genuinely useful article. We are happy to run both, and we hold both to the same bar: the reader must learn something.
Our link policy is straightforward. Published articles are permanent, indexed and carry dofollow editorial links to the author or the sources cited. We do not take articles down later and we do not quietly switch links to nofollow. Where disclosure is required, a sponsored post is labelled as sponsored. Pricing for sponsored articles is available on request; tell us what you have in mind and we will send a quote. Typical turnaround from acceptance to publication is three to five working days.
Guidelines
These are our contributor guidelines. Reading them before you submit an article saves a round of e-mail.
- Original content only. Nothing previously published, including on your own blog, Medium or LinkedIn. We check.
- Minimum 800 words. Our best-performing pieces run 1,000 to 1,500 words. Let the topic set the length.
- One or two relevant links in the body are welcome when they help the reader. Links to unrelated commercial pages are removed.
- No gambling, adult or pharmaceutical content, and no content that teaches people how to send spam. We are, after all, an anti-spam site.
- Be specific. Show the header, the config, the number, the screenshot description. Generic "top tips" articles are declined.
- An author bio of two or three sentences with a single link is optional.
- We edit for house style, clarity and accuracy. Larger changes are agreed with you first; small edits are not.
- Send the draft as a Google Doc link or a Word file rather than pasting HTML into the e-mail.
How to pitch
E-mail [email protected] with the subject line "Guest post: [your topic]". Give us a working title, two or three sentences on the angle and who it helps, and a line about who you are. If you are proposing a sponsored post, say so in the first line and name the product or company the article will feature so we can check fit and send pricing. A finished draft is welcome and will be reviewed faster than a pitch.
We answer every pitch that follows the guidelines, normally within two working days. If a week passes with no reply, a filter has probably eaten it, which on this site counts as irony, so please send it again.
Whether you want to write for us, submit an article you have already drafted, or book a sponsored post in front of readers who care about e-mail and privacy, the address is [email protected].
